Following a recent advisor meet-up in the Big Easy — where Fora HQ members and advisors explored the city’s top sites, bars, restaurants and, of course, hotels — we’re eager to share our top picks. Read on for a few of our picks for the top hotels in New Orleans.

The Virgin brand excels at injecting fun, playful, cheeky vibes into everything it does. Virgin Hotels New Orleans, which was featured in our 2024 Hot List, is no exception. The decor is vibrant and cozy, and there’s a pervasive positive energy, too. Don’t miss the rooftop pool and bar, nor the Commons Club, which serves up gourmet Southern-inspired cooking.

Fora Perks:

  • $25 daily food / beverage credit, welcome amenity, upgrade & late check-out whenever possible.

How we love Maison de la Luz, one of the top hotels in New Orleans for its elegant, tasteful decor and five-star hospitality. Our advisors who visited the converted City Hall annex fondly described its style as something akin to what you’d expect from your “well-traveled eclectic aunt”: thoughtful details, bold fabrics, bespoke artwork, giant windows. The onsite Bar Marilou is a must. It’s housed in City Hall’s old library, and today the space is intimate, sexy and very chic. Plus, the cocktails and bar bites are to die for.

Fora Perks:

  • $100 food / beverage credit, breakfast daily, upgrade & extended check-in/out whenever possible.

Kimpton Hotel Fontenot

This playful Downtown retreat always has something going on, from comedy shows to poetry events to art exhibitions and more. Its central location means you’re nearby NOLA’s top areas and attractions (Bourbon Street, the French Quarter), and its delightfully ornate Peacock Room is the go-to spot for a fun brunch, dinner or cocktail.

Fora Perks:

  • $50 hotel / resort credit, welcome amenities, upgrade & late check-out whenever possible.

As always, Four Seasons knocks it out of the park. On the heels of a renovation, this top hotel in New Orleans more than delivers. The hotel can arrange a private jazz concert for you, connect you with a local chef with whom to hit the town (and its best bars and restaurants), organize a street-car tour with a local historian…whatever you’re feeling, they’ll make it happen. Rooms are modern and light-filled, and even the gym — with floor-to-ceiling windows, Peloton bikes and all the strength equipment you need — is worth a visit. (P.S. See more of the best hotel gyms.)
