Day 1: Coffee Shop Tour in Palermo
Kick off your Buenos Aires adventure with a coffee shop tour in Palermo. This trendy neighborhood is known for its charming cafés and street art. Start your morning with a delicious Argentine coffee at Von Berry House, then make your way to Madre Cafe and get your breath taken away at Paul French Gallery which is a furniture store, café and plant store. Take a leisurely stroll through the vibrant streets, exploring the local shops and street art in between cafés.
Day 2: Day Trip to Tigre
Escape the city for a day and head to Tigre, located just an hour north of Buenos Aires. This picturesque town is perfect for a day trip, offering serene river views, lush greenery and a relaxed atmosphere. Hop on a boat tour to explore the canals and islands of the Paraná Delta or visit the Puerto de Frutos market for unique souvenirs.
How to get there: You’ll take the Tren De La Costa from Retiro train station. This train departs every 15 minutes from 5:00 am till 11:00 pm and takes you through the Buenos Aires coast line.
Day 3: San Telmo Market and Recoleta Walking Tour
Begin your Sunday at the bustling San Telmo Market, where you'll find a mix of antiques, crafts and delicious street food. Wander through the colorful stalls and chat with local vendors before continuing to the Recoleta neighborhood. Here, embark on a walking tour that includes the stunning Recoleta Cemetery, home to the grave of Eva Perón, and the impressive National Fine Arts Museum. Wrap up your day with a relaxing stroll through the lush greenery of Plaza Francia.
Day 4: Tango Show and Steak Reservation at Don Julio
Experience the passion and intensity of Argentine tango at a live show. Choose from a variety of venues, such as Rojo Tango or Café de los Angelitos and be swept away by the sultry music and captivating dance moves.
Afterward, savor the flavors of Argentina with a reservation at Don Julio, one of the city's top steakhouses. Indulge in a juicy, perfectly cooked steak paired with a robust Argentine Malbec. Other recommended steakhouses are La Carnicería and La Cabrera.
Day 5: Dulce de Leche Tasting and Wine Tasting
On your final day, treat yourself to the sweet taste of Argentina's famous dulce de leche. Visit Rapa Nui, an acclaimed chocolate shop, to sample their array of dulce de leche treats, such as the mouthwatering alfajores and chocolate-dipped conitos. Afterward, join a wine tasting to sample some of Argentina's finest wines, from Malbec to Torrontés. You can visit a local wine bar, such as Pain et Vin or Vico Wine Bar, for a curated tasting experience.
