Curator’s statement

One of my favorite birthday getaways before heading to Tokyo was Singapore, which is the most underrated country that displays beautiful greenery in the middle of the city with an array of cultural cuisines and luxury places to explore. Singapore is a fantastic region for foodies and high end travel that has great building high tech architecture and various districts for shopping and local food. Oh, and did I mention to brunch and then head to an avatar botanical garden experience.

Day 1: Arriving at Singapore

Fountain and garden indoors in Singapore.

Drop your bags and head over to the Jewel Mall located directly across from the airport or after you have checked into your hotel. I had the pleasure of staying in a lifestyle hotel the M Social Singapore that has studio two level style rooms with a trendy asian fusion twist located in in the Robinson Quay area right on Singapore River surrounded with pubs and eateries.

Visit the Jewel Mall to site the beautiful indoor waterfall forest, walking trails, dining and shopping.

Day 2: Exploring Singapore

Brunch and have a botanical experience near the Marina Bay area. Singapore has many shopping malls to spend all of your money, but there are a great variety of restaurants and seafood to try— especially the chili crab near the river walk.

For a more luxurious experience, reserve and head over to the LAVO Rooftop Bar where they host Sunday Brunch with unlimited premium drinks/champagne included. It was by far the best brunch experience I had with a beautiful view of the Marina Bays Sands and the Avatar Garden. The brunch host different stations of cuisine that ranges from Italian, seafood, breakfast and small bites with a delicious dessert display. Check out a recap here.

After you you have filled your belly, walk across the marina to start your exploration at the Gardens By the Bay for an Avatar Experience that has multiple levels, live virtual picture, and botanical floral to take pictures as you walk across the OCBC Skywalk.

Day 3: Universal Studio and More

Rollercoaster in Singapore.

Get to Hop the city and catch a nearby bike to head cute nearby cafes. Then, revisit your childhood and head to Universal Studios for rides and popular movie experiences.

If you are up for more high end and local shopping, your can visit one of the many districts called Burgos Street Shopping District and explore Orchard Road for more shopping and bars.

Then, grab some lunch for a seafood dinner on Outram Riad or Level Oyster Happy Hour.
After you have a little more art, museum, and shopping experience at the various districts wind down and catch a sunset dinner at Foc Sentosa Tapas.
