Things to do in Paris' 5th Arrondissement

A view of the rooftops and architecture of Paris, France with various windows and neutral color scheme.

Below are my selections for the best Paris 5th arrondissement hotels. All properties are centrally located in Paris, walking distance from the Seine River, Luxembourg Gardens, the Pantheon and Notre-Dame Cathedral.

1. Hôtel Monge Paris: A 30-key boutique hotel tucked inside a renovated historic mansion. This property is close to the Pantheon, has an honor bar for mixing drinks just the way you like them and also offers a small hammam for decompressing after hours wandering Paris on foot.

2. Maison Colbert- Meliá Collection: This property is close to Notre Dame Cathedral and is a one-minute walk to the Seine River, making it a great central location for exploring Paris. Guest rooms are styled in calming neutral tones perfect for relaxation.

3. Hôtel Parc Saint Séverin: This hotel is located at the corner of two pedestrian-only streets, which creates a sense of calm and quiet in an otherwise bustling neighborhood. Rooms have 1950s-style furnishings and most rooms have bathtubs. I recommend choosing a room on one of the higher floors which have generously sized furnished terraces to revel in the surrounding view of the Paris skyline.

4. Hôtel des Grands Hommes: This property was once a family boarding house and has a romantic vibe, perfect for couples traveling to Paris. The boutique 31 key property has an upscale classic vibe with floral wallpaper and gilded furniture.

5. Hôtel Pilgrim: With a spa, indoor pool, steam room and fitness center, this is a great property to pick if wellness is top of mind to balance the indulgent French cuisine you'll be enjoying. This property has a modern bar to enjoy a cocktail in and is opening a rooftop in April 2024. The terrace suite has a large terrace that looks out onto a private courtyard and a double rain shower.

6. Le Lapin Blanc: Rooms here are bright and airy with a pastel décor of creams and whites. If you look closely, you'll spot white rabbits hidden throughout the décor, a nod to the Alice in Wonderland fairytale. This is the perfect property if you prefer neutral décor vibes with a nod of whimsy.

7. Hôtel La Lanterne: A 27-key hotel with refined contemporary décor and several design nods to lanterns, hence the name. A basement pool has a vaulted stone ceiling above it is available for use as well as a hammam.

8. Hôtel Atmosphères: This hotel has modern décor with walls painted in bright colors and contemporary photography is displayed throughout. The rooms offer bright renovated bathrooms, with rainfall showers. This property has a private courtyard where you can enjoy a drink from the honor undefined bar.
