Day 1 & 2: Milan

Begin your travels in Milan, where every corner tells a story of art, history and culinary delights. Marvel at the timeless masterpiece "The Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci and ascend the iconic terraces of the Duomo for breathtaking views of the city. Treat your taste buds to the delicious tiramisu and gelato at Chocolat Milano, a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. Be sure to take a ride on the vintage trams, and head into the bustling Navigli district for plenty of dinner options.

Embark on a scenic train journey from Milan to Tirano, where you'll board the legendary Bernina Express. Traverse through snow-kissed landscapes and winding mountain passes as you make your way to Chur. Along the route, immerse yourself in the tales of the region's history and culture, narrated by our knowledgeable guide.

Day 4-11: Basel to Amsterdam via Rhine River Cruise

Take the train from Chur to Basel via Zurich, to set sail on a seven-day cruise along the Rhine River with Viking or AmaWaterways, where luxury knows no bounds. From the picturesque streets of Strasbourg to the historic charm of Koblenz, each stop offers a treasure trove of experiences waiting to be explored. Don't miss the opportunity to visit Marksburg Castle, a medieval fortress steeped in history and intrigue.

Experience unparalleled service aboard, where every detail is taken care of by the kind and wonderful crew members. As someone with dietary restrictions, rest assured that you'll be catered to with utmost care and attention by the Maitre d’Hotel and wait staff.

Day 11: Amsterdam

While in Amsterdam, visit the Anne Frank House, and take a quick trip to Haarlem (sometimes referred to as "little Amsterdam") to escape the crowds, and visit the Corrie ten Boom House. These poignant reminders of World War II offer insights into the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity. Be sure to get reservations for both houses early.

Day 12: Conclusion - A Grand Finale in Paris

Conclude your adventure by taking the Eurostar to Paris, the epitome of romance and sophistication. Spend three indulgent days exploring the City of Light, where every street corner exudes charm and elegance. Wander through the cobbled lanes of the Latin Quarter, stopping to admire iconic landmarks such as Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Louvre Museum. If you want to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower and don't have advance reservations, I'd recommend going at night — the lights are spectacular and the wait times are typically much shorter.

Indulge in Parisian gastronomy at Michelin-starred restaurants or quaint bistros tucked away in hidden courtyards. Savor decadent pastries at world-renowned patisseries and unwind with a glass of fine wine at a sidewalk café, or warm up with a vin chaud (hot mulled wine) as you stroll along the city during the winter months. If you're gluten free, be sure to enjoy a galette, which is a crepe made with gluten-free buckwheat flour and filled with savory or sweet options of your choice!

Venture beyond the city limits for a day trip to Normandy, where history comes to life amid the picturesque landscapes and historic sites. Visit the D-Day landing beaches and pay homage to the brave soldiers who fought for freedom during World War II.

Need to Know

As your journey draws to a close, reflect on the memories made and the experiences shared during this extraordinary adventure. From Milan to Paris, each destination has left an indelible mark, reminding you of the timelessness and beauty of travel.
