a ski town in summer
Curator’s statement

Park City has become one of my favorite summer destinations. The weather is almost always beautiful with sunny days and light breezes in the evening. I am able to enjoy all of my summertime activities in a beautiful mountain town. Park City still has the Old West vibe; think cowboy hats, saloons and some great food. However, don't think that is the extent of its charm. It has some fantastic art galleries that capture wildlife, the beauty of the mountains, and Native American art. Stroll up and down Main Street and get lost in its plethora of galleries, shops and restaurants.

Things to do in Park City

green fields and trees with rolling hills
  • Play golf at one or more of these courses: The Canyons, Wasatch Mountain Course or Soldier Hollow Golf Course. Book tee times in advance as they do fill up, and don't forget your camera!

  • Take a horse back ride. It's a great way to see the area. Red Pine Adventures and Destination Sports and Adventures are just two of the several operators.

  • Take a hike! With more than 400 miles of public trails, any level can be found at alltrails.com.

  • Grab a Gold Pass at the Olympic Park, where you can spend 3.5 hours with access to Alpine slides, tubing, zip lines, discovery course, drop tower and more. Insider tip: Plan for a Friday trip and see the aerial ski jumpers splash into the pool (get a seat early or you may be standing, tickets needed). You can also ride the bobsled for an extra fee.

  • Head out for a day trip. Take the scenic drive to Sundance, where you can grab lunch and take a hike to some water falls.

  • Go up the Gondola in town and hike around with great views of downtown. Don't forget your water, you will be thirsty and there are no vendors up top.

  • Try your hand at fly fishing.

  • Park Silly Sunday Market: From 10am - 5pm, this eco friendly open air artist market and festival runs up and down Main Street. Check the calendar for their summer season!

  • Park City Live is an outdoor concert city. Look for upcoming events; they usually start posting in May.

  • Go on the hunt for moose! If you drive over the mountain past the Montage on your way back down toward Wasatch Mountain State Park, drive slowly through the Aspens and look for the moose that are tucked away from the heat of the day. Warning! Stay in your car, as they are wild animals and have been known to charge, especially if there are cubs in the area.

  • Last but not least, just stroll up and down Main Street visiting all of the art galleries, local shops, restaurants and bars. For those that can't make the hike up Main Street, watch for the free trolley that runs every 15-20 minutes, then you can just walk down. :)
