Best things to do in Bora Bora

overwater bungalow overlooking a rugged green mountain

The island of Bora Bora is incredibly beautiful and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful waters in the world. Leave your overwater bungalow, and enjoy one of the many water activities that are offered. Some of these activities include snorkeling, kayaking, swimming along side sharks and rays, jet skiing and paddle boarding.

The main island of Bora Bora is small, and you can rent a car, drive around the entire island and stop at many of the island's beaches along the way, or do some hiking. The culture is warm and welcoming, and stopping in the main town of Vaitape for some shopping is a must.

To have the ultimate luxurious experience, schedule a spa day at one of the many resort spas. Enjoy a couple's massage on the beach, followed by lunch on a private island all to yourself.

Where to eat & drink in Bora Bora

Bloody Mary's: Famous quiet hut restaurant with a wall of pictures from famous visitors. A must-see stop on any trip to Bora Bora.

Bora Bora Beach Club: A family-friendly restaurant with a beach view. Fantastic food and even better sunset views. This is located at the popular Matira Beach.

Noa Noa Restaurant, inside the InterContinental Le Moana Resort: Gourmet French and international cuisine, right on the beach. Visit at night for live music and a cocktail.

The Lucky House Fare Manuia Restaurant: If you're a fan of brick-oven pizza, this is your place. A casual, quaint, locally popular restaurant, this offers a quick lunch or causal dinner. You can even grab a pizza to go and enjoy it on the balcony of your overwater bungalow.

Sands Restaurant, located at the InterContinental Bora Bora Thalasso & Spa: This is a casual, beach-and-poolside restaurant. It faces the pristine, white-sand beach of the resort, and offers some of the best fish tacos.

Restaurant Saint James: This is the place to eat on Bora Bora. It features absolutely incredible sunset views and is situated in the heart of Vaitape. The food is fantastic, and I know you will walk away from this restaurant impressed.
