Place Des Vosges - This small park in the middle of Paris’s most charming neighborhood, Le Marais, is a wonderful spot to picnic and people watch. With a large fountain centered in the park, it is also equipped with benches. There is plenty of shade as well as open areas for prime sunshine. We visited a nearby free museum, Musée Carnavalet, before coming to this park that I would highly recommend if you don’t wanna be crowded with fellow travelers and tourist.

Park Des Buttes-Chaumont - Nestled right on the edge of the first section of Paris, it’s larger and more remote than others. This park includes a few hill tops with stunning views of the city as well as cafes nestled in the trees for when you need a secluded shot of espresso.

Parc Monceau is wonderful for children and families. There’s one large carousel with a few cafés surrounding it. What is most beautiful about this park is the manicured landscape with blooming flowers and tropical palm trees. This park has plenty of benches lining the main strip down the middle of the park.

Square du Vert-Galant is located on the tip of the Île De La Cité. In the spring and summer, it is covered with a large weeping willow providing ample shade and seclusion from the rest of the surrounding city while also boasting some of the most ideal views of the Seine.

Eiffel Tower- Sitting in the park under the Eiffel Tower sounds ideal, but it tends to be crowded, full of vendors, tour groups and possibly not open depending on the season. We sat across the Seine and had a picnic. I would argue it’s a better view of the Eiffel Tower and much more relaxing.

Chez Denise- Dinner spot for locals where the food is rustic and cozy and the interiors make you feel like you are in the French country side. The service is great and the food was just what is just what you want after a long flight. Located on a quiet street. Reservations encouraged, but not mandatory.

Caractère De Cochon - A very small ham sandwich shop. I am hesitant to share it because it’s such a hidden gem, but I can’t help but tell everyone about it. You pick your ham and cheese and they make you your perfect sandwich to take as you walk around the city.

Terra Bar à Vins - Classic French wine bar. This is everything you want and more! Wonderful staff. The menu changes frequently with all small plates to share. And don’t forget about the wine! Wonderful recommendations by the staff and even a complementary dessert wine provided.
