Things to do in Saint Lucia

A boat sailing in a sea with pointed small hills at the back.

Sunset Cruise - Cruise along the open ocean of Saint Lucia with a beverage in hand and take in the beautiful views from the water! I highly recommend this for couples! It’s the perfect romantic capstone to a day in paradise!

Snorkeling at Sugar Beach. Dive into the protected coral reef to see tropical fish of amazing colors! Don’t worry— in the words of the snorkel guide, “Nemo is the scariest fish you’ll see!”.

Lounge on the beach or by the pool. You’re on island time, so take time for yourself. Enjoy the beautiful weather, soak in the sun and lounge with a Piton beer in hand.

Indulge in the local cuisine. Some resorts offer a Creole night, where you can enjoy delicious Caribbean-influenced cuisine like fried plantains, bakes, saltfish and more.

Taste local rums - Experience the unique tastes of rums local to Saint Lucia with a rum tasting. Maybe even bring home a bottle as a souvenir!

Gros Piton Hike - If you’re feeling adventurous, you can climb one of the two major mountains (“pitons”) on the island. You’ll need a guide so check with your hotel (or travel advisor!) on booking this excursion. It’s not the easiest hike, but the breathtaking views are worth it!

Enjoy a massage at the resort spa - You’re on vacation, so indulge in a spa treatment or two. Sugar Beach’s Rainforest Spa is unlike any spa you’ve been to before. Built into the rainforest itself, the hut treatment rooms make you feel at one with the elements.

Floating Breakfast- Not all resorts may offer this, but I’d highly recommend getting a floating breakfast to your room (if you have your own private plunge pool - like many of the rooms in Saint Lucia!) This floating breakfast is a tray full of whatever you’d like to eat or drink - croissants, cheeses, eggs, tropical fruits, mimosas, fresh pressed coffee - and decorated with local foliage and flowers to create the most beautiful breakfast spread you’ve seen.

Places to eat & drink in Saint Lucia

Outdoor restaurant overlooking the sea.

Most places to eat or drink depend on which resort you would like to stay at. These are mostly Sugar Beach recommendations:

The Terrace Restaurant - Get there early for a table against the railing for beautiful views during breakfast. The spread and a la carte selection of classic and local foods for breakfast is outstanding, and will have you coming back for seconds during breakfast.

Saltwood - For an elevated evening, head to Saltwood and dine on delicious seafood and steaks with a moonlit view of the Pitons.

The Cane Bar - If you’re looking for a great drink paired with delicious, asian-inspired cuisine, you’re in luck.

Dasheene - Enjoy award-winning local cuisine with breath-taking views.

Jalousie Grill - If you’re looking for a casual meal with delicious dishes, Jalousie is for you. Enjoy the fresh catch of the day, delicious salads and more.
