Things to do in Telluride

  • Skiing & Snowboarding: Telluride Ski Resort is known around the world as one of the best places to ski and snowboard. The slopes in Telluride are famous for being some of the greatest in Colorado. Every year, the area gets more than 300 inches of snow, and there are over 2,000 acres of skiable land for all skill levels. Plus, with 300 days of sunshine each year and no long waits for lifts, skiing and snowboarding in Telluride are truly amazing experiences.

  • Snowmobiling: Just outside Telluride and Mountain Village, there are lots of well-kept trails perfect for snowmobiling. Snowmobiling is a great way to explore these trails and the beautiful mountain scenery. Local experts offer guided snowmobile adventures for half a day or a full day. They use the latest snowmobiles that are more powerful, quieter, and better for the environment. This makes these tours suitable for everyone, no matter their age or experience level.

  • Ice Skating: Ice skating is a classic winter thing to do. Whether you're at the pro-level hockey rink, the outdoor one in Telluride Town Park or the rink at Hotel Madeline in Mountain Village, we say strap on some skates and give it a go!

  • Helicopter Skiing: If you're into finding fresh powder in the untouched backcountry, heli-skiing is your thing. Helitrax is the top-notch helicopter skiing crew in Colorado. Since 1982, the guides at Helitrax have been making sure skiers and snowboarders have safe and customized adventures in the backcountry. They fly over the stunning San Juan Mountains at the highest elevations of any helicopter ski operation in North America. This gives you awesome views and plenty of chances for those perfect powder turns. You can pick from day trips, multi-day adventures, or we can create your own custom tour with them.

  • Horseback and Sleigh Rides: Riding horses in the stunning San Juan Mountains is something you'll always remember in Telluride. The amazing mountain views and wide-open spaces will lift your mood. You get to ride through pretty aspen forests and high-up alpine meadows, taking in the best of nature. And if you want a truly unforgettable time, try a dinner sleigh ride under a sky full of stars.

  • Fat Biking: Embrace biking all year long in Telluride with those cool big tire bikes. Take a leisurely ride through the Valley Floor, enjoying the scenery. Or, if you're up for a good workout, tackle the uphill climb of Bear Creek for a solid cardio session. Whether you're into a chill ride or a more challenging pedal, Telluride's got the trails for every kind of biking adventure.

  • Gondola: Taking a ride on the gondola is always a blast. Even better is that it doesn't cost a thing! The gondola hit its 20th birthday in December 2016, and the special red cabin is a favorite with the kids. Hop on the "G" from town to Mountain Village, grab some lunch, maybe check out the slopes, and then swing by the playground near Poacher’s Pub. The ride from Telluride to Mountain Village is around 13 minutes – quick and fun!

  • Four Tours: In Telluride and Mountain Village, there's a ton of places to grab a bite or a drink, so many choices! But where should you begin? Dive into the incredible world of food in our two towns. Try everything from fancy French dishes to delicious Southern comfort food. There's a taste for every craving, and you're in for a treat exploring the fantastic cuisine these towns have to offer.
