As I stepped off the train at Osaka Station, I felt a surge of excitement coursing through me. Osaka has a reputation for vibrant streets and rich cultural heritage, which promises an adventure unlike any other. Armed with a list of must-visit destinations, I embarked on a journey through this dynamic city. I was eager to immerse myself in its sights, sounds and flavors. Below is a list of things to do in Osaka based on my own exploration of the vibrant city.

Shop in Shinsaibashi — Wander along this bustling shopping street, lined with an array of stores, boutiques and restaurants, offering everything from fashion to souvenirs.
Enjoy Universal Studios Japan — Spend a day at this thrilling theme park, where you can experience immersive attractions based on popular movies and TV shows, including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Great family activity!
Explore Kuromon Ichiba Market — Dive into Osaka's culinary scene at this bustling market, where you can sample fresh seafood, local produce and street food favorites.
Take a River Cruise — Relax and enjoy scenic views of Osaka's waterfront on a leisurely cruise along the Okawa River, passing by landmarks like Osaka Castle and Nakanoshima Park.

Kuromon Ichiba Market: Lunch — The Market is a food lover's paradise, featuring numerous stalls and eateries serving fresh seafood, grilled meats, sushi, Takoyaki and other local specialties. It's an excellent place to sample a variety of Osaka's best street food. A top activity for things to do in Osaka, as you will be thoroughly entertained while you are eating your way through the market.
Takoyaki Wanaka: Snack Takoyaki, a popular Osaka street food, is best enjoyed at Takoyaki Wanaka.
Hokkyokusei: Classic comfort food since 1922. Enjoy the fluffy omelet draped over seasoned rice and topped with rich demi-glace sauce.
Yakumido: Amazing traditional Japanese curry.
Hirokawa: This Michelin-starred restaurant's Omakase Course is ¥21,780. Reservations are required.
Ori-gin Cocktail Bar: Specializing in gin-based cocktails.
Camp Bar: Located in the trendy Amerikamura (American Village) area. Casual and fun atmosphere.
High Five Bar: A renowned bartender, Hidetsugu Ueno runs this stylish bar in the Kitahama area.
