My Story

Italy was my first international journey. I did not know then what I was bringing home—only that something had shifted. The unhurried pace. The way a meal could last three hours without apology. The sense that a place could ask something of you and that answering it was the entire point of being there.

That way of moving through the world stayed with me through years in corporate life—Director of Business Process for a national mortgage company—where the pace ran in the opposite direction entirely. When I stepped away to be present for my family, I found myself returning to that question: what does it mean to travel with intention rather than urgency?
