My family never traveled when I was a child, so when I turned 18, I started planning low-budget travel at every opportunity. I became obsessed with seeing the world after studying abroad in Denmark for a summer in college. Now that I have my own family, I make sure to show my children as much of the world as possible, as frequently as possible. My travel budget has definitely increased since I was 18, but those years of pulling pieces of a vacation together on a tight budget have prepared me to create the best experiences with the most value.
