Am I Covered by E&O Insurance

Fora's Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance coverage—what's covered, the conditions for coverage, and when you might need your own policy.

Summary

  • All Fora advisors are covered by E&O insurance if the claim is brought against Fora in the US

  • Coverage: $3 million annual limit, $10,000 deductible per incident, underwritten by Berkshire Hathaway

  • Must maintain clear Fora affiliation in client-facing materials to be eligible

  • May not be covered if operating under a separate brand or LLC without Fora affiliation

  • Consider your own policy if: operating under a separate brand, booking $500k+, or handling large non-refundable travel

  • Claims process: email support@fora.travel within 24 hours of discovering a potential error

What is E&O insurance?

Errors and Omissions (E&O) insurance is professional liability coverage that protects against:

  • Major errors in providing travel planning services

  • Negligence or failures that result in client financial loss

  • Catastrophic travel disruptions

  • Non-refundable booking errors

This is protection for significant incidents, not routine issues.

How to maintain affiliation

You can demonstrate Fora affiliation by either:

  • Using your @fora.travel email address, OR

  • Clearly showing Fora affiliation in your email signature or materials if operating under a separate brand (e.g., "A Fora Travel Agency" or "Affiliated with Fora Travel")

When you may not be covered

Separate brand without affiliation

You may not be covered if:

  • You operate under a separate brand or business identity with no clear Fora affiliation

  • Your marketing does not mention or connect to Fora

  • Clients would not know you're affiliated with Fora

  • Claims filed outside the United States

  • Errors below the $10,000 deductible threshold

What if I use both @fora.travel and a personal brand?
Maintain clear Fora affiliation in your communications to ensure coverage eligibility.

Is the $10,000 deductible per incident or per year?
Per incident.

What if a client threatens to sue?
Document everything and contact support@fora.travel immediately.

Can I get reimbursed for the deductible?
