Important considerations
Review your prior contract
Before transitioning, review any:
Non-compete clauses: May restrict when/how you can contact prior clients
Non-solicitation clauses: May limit direct outreach
Client ownership terms: Some contracts specify who "owns" client relationships
Fora cannot provide legal advice on your specific contract. Consult with a legal professional if unclear.
Existing bookings
Most bookings cannot be transferred between agencies.
If you have active bookings at your prior agency:
They typically stay with that agency
Commission goes to the agency where the booking was made
Clients may need to contact the original agency for modifications
New bookings with those clients should be made through Fora.
Supplier portals and certifications
Transferring logins
Most suppliers (including cruise portals and programs like the Disney Travel Agent portal) allow you to transfer your existing login to your new agency by updating:
Your IATA number (to Fora's)
Your email address (to @fora.travel)
Certifications
Most certifications can be transferred or maintained:
Destination specialist programs
Cruise line certifications
Supplier-specific credentials
Contact each supplier/certification body to update your agency affiliation.

FAQs
Do my clients have to do anything?
No action required from clients. They simply book with you through Fora going forward.
Will my clients notice a difference?
They'll receive communications from your @fora.travel email and may receive upgraded amenities through Fora's preferred partnerships. The relationship remains with you.
Can I transfer a booking that's already in progress?
Usually no. In rare cases, some suppliers allow "takeover" bookings—check specific supplier policies.
What about commission on past bookings?
Commission for bookings made through your prior agency goes to that agency, per your existing agreement.
How long should I wait before contacting former clients?
Review your prior contract. Non-compete/non-solicitation clauses may specify waiting periods. When in doubt, consult a legal professional.
