Summary
Four tiers: Certified, Advanced, Pro, Fora X
Progression is based on booking volume, client count, and reviews
Each tier unlocks additional benefits
Pro ($100k/year) unlocks leads eligibility, Fam (familiarization) trips, and your personal IATA card
Commission split upgrade (80/20) is separate: requires $300k/year
Tier status must be maintained annually

Commission split vs. tier status
These are two separate systems.
Milestone | Booking requirement | Benefit |
Pro status | $100k/year | Leads eligibility, Fam (familiarization) trips, personal IATA card |
80/20 split | $300k/year | Higher commission percentage — you keep 80% instead of 70% |
Fora X status | $500k/year |
|
90/10 split | $2m/year |
|
Commission split details
Split | Requirement |
70/30 (starting) | Default for all advisors |
80/20 (upgraded) | $300k in commissionable travel in calendar year |
90/10 | $2m in commissionable travel in calendar year |
The 80/20 split must be re-earned annually. If you don't reach the threshold, you revert to 70/30. Most advisors spend several years at 70/30 and build strong businesses at that rate.
For the full commission calculation and what the split means in practice, see How Commission Works at Fora.
Tier reset and progression
Tier status resets annually. If you hit Advanced one year but don't reach $40,000 the next, you revert to Certified. Status reflects what you've earned this year, not historical achievements.
Typical timeline
Milestone | Typical timing |
Certified | First few weeks/months |
Advanced | 6-18 months |
Pro | 1-3 years |
Fora X | 3+ years |
Timelines vary significantly based on effort, niche, and time invested.
What accelerates progression
Factor | Impact |
Higher booking values | Faster volume accumulation |
Repeat clients | Efficient growth |
Niche focus | Faster expertise and referrals |
Full-time dedication | More booking capacity |
Group bookings | Larger single transactions |
In practice
Olga Rykova, who left a Four Seasons management role to join Fora, reached Pro status seven months after joining.
Common scenarios
If... | Then... |
You're a new advisor | Complete the Essentials course and make one booking to reach Certified |
You hit $100k but not $300k this year | You reach Pro tier but stay at the 70/30 commission split — they're separate |
You reach $300k this year | Your split upgrades to 80/20; you’ll also'maintain Pro tier |
You hit Advanced last year but only book $30k this year | You revert to Certified — tier status reflects current-year performance |
You book $120k in year 1 | You qualify directly for Pro — you don't have to pass through Advanced first |
You join Fora from another host agency and already have a book of business $100k/year or more | You can join as Pro without needing to qualify for earlier tiers |
FAQs
Do tiers reset each year?
Yes. Tier status must be maintained annually by meeting the requirements.
What if I don't maintain my tier?
You revert to the highest tier you qualify for based on current-year performance.
Can I skip tiers?
If you meet higher-tier requirements, you qualify directly. You don't have to progress sequentially.
Is $100k in bookings the travel value or commission?
Travel value (total commissionable bookings), not commission amount.
What counts as a "unique client"?
Each individual or booking party counts as one client.
