Day 1: Old Lahaina Luau

Palm trees with body of water in the background during sunset

Old Lahaina Luau: Book this luau at least three months in advance. However, you can place yourself on the waitlist, but would need to check in periodically to reserve your spot. Once you reserve your spot, you will notice why this luau is so popular. It has great traditional Hawaiian food with unlimited premium adult beverages for adults over 21. They give you a lei and a warm welcome, the perfect way to start your Maui trip. Book a table and chair for seating, or try something new and sit on comfy floor cushions from which to enjoy this beautiful traditional Hawaiian luau show, with oceanfront views during sunset.

Day 2: Road to Hana tour

Green mountains next to body of water with cloudy skies during daytime

Road to Hana whole day tour: This tour is not for the faint of heart. There are sharp turns and stops when traveling through the scenic east side of Maui. We recommend bringing some ginger candy or Dramamine / Bonine if you are prone to motion sickness. But the rewards are numerous: charming shops, amazing waterfalls, beaches, greens.

You also have the option to learn about what Maui has to offer through a guided tour, where you'll be able to get a ride to Hana without the need of renting a Jeep yourself and driving on off-road terrains. In this tour, your guide will stop by beaches and parks such as Koki Red Sand Beach (recommend grabbing some Huli Huli chicken, as seen on Gordon Ramsey's "Uncharted" show), taking a swim at the Wai'anapanapa State Park's black-sand beach and jumping off a waterfall into a freshwater pond for a rinse at the Ko'olau Forest Reserve.

This tour is a full-day family adventure tour, so be sure to pack swimsuits, towels, sunscreen, hand sanitizer and cash (since you'll be stopping by local fruit stands and small businesses). They provide continental breakfast and lunch. You can also purchase your own snacks, drinks and food at different stops along the tour. We recommend trying Huli Huli chicken, where you'll find local coconut and avocados.

Day 3: Snorkeling tour to Molokini Crater

White boat on body of water during daytime

Snorkeling tour to Molokini Crater: There are several different snorkeling tours, and they all leave from Ma'alaea Harbor. On the Trilogy II snorkeling tours, you'll ride on a large catamaran, where they serve you a continental breakfast of cinnamon rolls, tropical fruit, complimentary Kona coffee, hot tea, hot cocoa or pineapple juice. You will sail toward the crescent-shaped Molokini Crater, a popular destination for snorkeling and diving with hundreds of species of fish and coral. This tour also takes you to the crater's backside, where you'll visit "Turtle Town" and snorkel amongst large sea turtles.

After, the captains sail back to the harbor. During the trip, they will serve you a complimentary BBQ chicken lunch and up to two premium alcoholic drinks for adults over 21. They take care of you along the way. And for first timers, they walk you through the snorkeling process.

You can even purchase underwater photos taken by a private photographer sailing with you, perfect for family photo ops and capturing unforgettable moments.

Day 4: Zip-lining in Kapalua

Wooden bridge leading into green forest during daytime

Zip-lining Day in Kapalua: Dress in comfortable clothes and shoes to zip-line through Kapalua's rainforest peaks, which are open only to tour guides of the fabulous company Kapalua Ziplines. It is a perfect opportunity for adventurous types, or for the non-thrill-seeking types to ride along and take in the sights. You can choose from either four or six lines from which to zipline, depending on the hours you choose.

You meet the tour guides at a hotel location, where they distribute helmets and transport you in a van to a private off-terrain area before driving you up to the zip line points. They advise you to not bring your phone or items due to the terrain; lockers are provided for free at their offices. You can rent go-pros at $50 each to capture your moments. The tour guide, too, takes photos and videos of you.

Elevations start from 500 feet to 2300 feet. ATV rides will be provided for each different elevation destination. There will be safety training and checks throughout each zip line points. Enjoy the ride!

Day 5: Visit Maluaka Beach

Sandy beach next to body of water during sunset

Visit Maluaka Beach on the south end, toward Wailea, for a swim and some photo ops. It has spectacular views of volcanic rocks and, in the distance, Molokini Crater. The perfect way to end your trip is to swim until sunset. The water is warm and the sand is smooth. The beach is blissfully secluded, and you can enjoy the views without tourists hanging around. Great for family, engagement, proposal, honeymoon and babymoon photoshoots!
