Of course luxury is the way to travel, but finding the diamond-in-the-rough sort of hotel or adventure is my absolute favorite. I love finding special traveling deals for all types of occasions.

Favorite hotels

The Venetian

An all-suite grande dame in the heart of the Strip, with two distinctive towers, myriad restaurants and gaming galore.

The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa

This downtown Denver hotel opened in 1892 and retains a stately air, from the wood-clad bedrooms to the six bars and restaurants.

Amber Light Luxury Villas

On Santorini’s less developed east coast, an all-suite retreat with crisp and comfy rooms, and an enormous pool overlooking the Aegean Sea.

Recently returned from:

  • Santorini and Mykonos, Greece for the wonderful beaches and sunsets.

  • Montanita, Ecuador – great waves and wonderful fresh seafood dishes.

  • St. Thomas US Virgin Island, a great atmosphere for couples.

  • Destin, Florida for the excellent white sand beaches.

Dreaming of:

  • Croatia.

  • Italy.

  • Portugal.

  • Costa Rica.

What’s one thing you can’t travel without?

Passport.

Two truths, one lie:

  1. I have been 100 yards away from a moose in Alaska.

  2. I was a server at George Strait in Las Vegas.
